The Branch committee are disturbed to have received reports that this blog has been internally blocked by the powers at be in Edinburgh's Telford College.
It has been alleged that all attempts to visit the site from within the college have been blocked. Individuals who have tried to view the site on friday and saturday have reported that an error message has been displayed.
The Branch Committee would like to substantiate these allegation before passing any comment.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have blocked it from the network.
Someone should hand out flyers advertising the address of this blog, or leave some lying around in the hub. This blog has the potential to be a reliable source of information, especially for students. As a student myself, I am already beginning to feel like I have no idea what the hell is going on.
If they are capable of blocking it they will that's for sure. If they are spending time trying to do this it strikes me that it is probably worth our while keeping up activity on this blog. We should be able to post from outwith the college network. Anyway main thing I'm here to post is a message of support from the EIS Branch at Reid Kerr, we fully support your action. Has anyone been in touch with local and national SNP people? The fact that Protocol National are an English outfit might help in persuading them to get involved.
Good luck.
As a recent professional employee in the Scottish education system nationally, I am appalled that the status and commitment of hard-working, dedicated staff is being abused in this way. Discussion at the highest level of management and unions, with a view to resolution of this serious situation, must take place as a matter of urgency.I have leave booked from the 15th Oct but as now
Well at least it's visible from other colleges (I won't say which in case our management block it!). A blog is a great idea to keep the communication going. Good luck to you all - you have our full support - if they get away with this at Telford, they'll do it everywhere else.
A colleague from a Glasgow FE college.
I certainly support the action at Telford. Thin edges of wedges are in evidence. College Lecturer {not Telford)
Don't think so. I'm viewing it now from inside the college. Maybe you just can't type!
The blog was definitely blocked on Friday. But when I checked it on Monday lunchtime it had been unblocked. This was probably because they felt under pressure due to the backlash about blocking our freedom of speech. If only the SMT could make such a quick turnaround about the Agency too, so that we don't have to miss more classes.
